If you left the thermostats out that is part of your problem because the coolant doesn't stop in the radiator so it doesn't have time to cool off.The thermostats keep the coolant at a steady tempurature by stoping the flow and letting the fluid cool down then they open to let only enough fluid pass to keep the engine in the best tempurature range.When the engine is hot is the bottom of the radiator hotIJ If the top is hot and the bottom is not then there isn't enough flow.Most likely the radiator core has pluged with rust.How long does it take to get hotIJ Are you working it hard to when it gets hotIJDoes the radiator build pressure fast when first startedIJ
