Combines 700 Header Retrofit

I also have a 27' 700 header. Can't answer your question about the conversion but I think that once you have it mounted, you will love it. That great big 7" fliteing auger really feeds great. I think that Gleaner may have corrected this on the latest ones, but mine only used n50 chain to drive the auger. The larger diameter of the auger caused by the bigger fliteing just absolutely destroyed the chain in about 50 hours. Bought new sprockets and idler for n60H chain this fall and it is a whole other story. No wear at all, and you can feel the chain at the end of the day and it is air temp. The n50 would be very warm to the touch after only an hour of running. Ed in Montana

Ed, have you tried a hand held infrared temp checker instead of feeling chain, belts, etc.IJ I bought one last year following Hyper IIs suggestion and have found it to be a very handy tool.

Tom, Yes I bought an IR temp gun this spring. Been fighting with that chain the last 3 years though. Replaced it before harvest so didn't get to use the gun on it. Hard to break old habits though as I still found myself checking temps the old way this fall. Ed in Montana

I put a 820 flex header on my R5 and had to modify the header lift cylinder attaching points to avoid interference with the front of the cab. Agco has a kit with all the measurements to do this and it lowers the lift by a few inches. After running it a while, you hardly notice the change.
