Combines 715 hydraulics

I have a 1480 that I bought some time ago. It has an extra or third header lifting cylinder on it. I asked the previous owner about it and he said it was put on to help lift the heavier corn header. You might look into a similar set up for the 715.

Thanks for the response, so many people on this site I didn't think I was going to get any help. This Farmer Tony person takes up a lot of this site time. I will have to check salvage and find another cylinder. Thanks for the help.

I still run a 715 and you should have no problem lifting that head. I had a 944 and it would lift with the throttle just ahead of the idle notch. I would think about a hydraulic problem somewhere. Is the belt tight or is the pump even goodIJ I would guess if the belt is tight and you have oil in the reservoir and the filter isn't plugged you have a pump problem. Don't know if someone in here can shed some light on what would interchange from a junk yard but my best guess says that's what it is.

I'm betting you have a bad hydraulic system pressure relief valve. Before you start swaping pumps and adding cylinders I would replace the relief valve with a new one and give it another try. Good luck Doc
