"even prefered the 460 to square bale hay" Man, I wish I had a penny for every square bale that I drove for on our 560D. When I was 12 or so I started driving for the custom crew, and we put up 20K plus per cutting. I loved the sound of that 560.
When they're tuned up and running good they're one sweet rig, ain't theyIJ I sold the 460 to a landlord 4 years ago, or so, I hope to be able to buy it back some day, as it's the tractor I practically grew up on, that and a 1086, 966. Chads
Yes, we had ours turned up and it sounded great. I can still remember the sound of that engine accelerating down the road with the baler and two trailers all in tow. Now, the tractor that I literally grew up on was our 806D. I spent countless hours on that tractor. We had that one REAllY turned up, so much so that at night when you hit a really hard spot you would get a 2" glow out of the muffler (the big oval one). Man, what memories!
That sounds like the 1256 I had. I always knew it was a little hot to ride, then, one night I was putting on anhydrous in a no-till field, and heck, there was flames comin out the exhaust! Great old tractors. Had 9000 hrs on it when I sold it and the guy still just loves it. Chads
