There are 2 places to adjust the head drop rate. One is on the valve stack and the other is on the head itself if you have the older series 2 head. Mine had the arm with electric connections that went to the Auto and then to the valve stack and the Auto on the valve stack is the one to adjust then. Or reset that arm for better reaction. My M2 autoheader and fuses had a love for each other. But if the Valve Stack and the Arm on the head are not set properly the reaction time and rate of lower are very poor.

Not an auto header type setup. Most combines here in Oklahoma don't have it. We cut hard read winter wheat only. Another dealer said bring the valve stack and we will rebuild for $400.00. OUCH!!!!!

I wonder if the solenoid is getting full current or if it has gotten rust in it so that it is not able to pull the valve clear to the detent position to lower the head. All the Valve Stack is,is a bunch of O-rings to replace. Make sure the rod is free and able to move freely forward and aft on the header height and that you are getting the same voltage at the servo(electric switch on valve) as at the switch on the console.

Welcome aboard OKfarmer, I would agree with John's last post about cleaning under the solenoid and make sure the poppet valve moves freely, so some dirt or something is not in there. Also check that voltage so you don't have a electrical problem. You could also switch a solenoid off another valve and see if that helps. Do all other functions work properlyIJIJ Where are you located in OK and hows the wheat lookingIJIJIJ

If your M lowers SlOW what is happening is only oil thru the primary poppet is lowering. The secondary poppet is not opening. The reason is 1- stuck secondary poppet ( take out the plug that the rate of lower screw goes thru and reach in and pull out spool, spring and finally poppet and check to see no blockage of the poppet seat has occured) or 2 the orfice below the primary poppet is plugged or partially plugged thus not allowing the pressure differential to occur between the 16 thousandth orfice below it in the secondary poppet. To fix this remove the pole piece under the magnet and poppet and poppet seat and run a 13 or 14 thous. orfice cleaner down in the hole. A squirt of brake cleaner or air or other pressureized method will help to flush out the remaining plug. To visualize this get a parts breakdown of a prior two valve master header lift solinoid. Part n's you are working on are 71185180 seconary poppet (make sure the seat is not moving by replacing o ring 70928035 around it.) 71174715 is the orfice plug you will clean. Whew,- memories,,,, water colored mamories, uh memories..... of the way things were,,,, sung off key of course,,,, this helps to pass the time while working in hyd fluid.....

Northwest part of the state. I'll try the info given today. Wheat looks great in some fields and others are totally sorry. We had a hard time getting the wheat in due to rains. The late wheat looks better than the early stuff. Some people grazed way too hard way too long. Others just grazed out with cattle the way they are that was probably more profitable, but not as fun as running the Gleaners. Thanks for the help!

Well we checked voltages...thay were okay (by the way if you have one of those booster boxes to jump start cars and a piece of jumper wire it makes quick work of suspected low voltage, or voltage with not enough amps behind it). Pulled adjust screw and fitting that holds tappit in place. Spring in THREE pieces. New spring, new o-rings, works like a charm. Thanks to those who responded!!!!!
