If the bevel gears on the bottom are still meshed and the bearing isn't completly out, I would guess that the drive on the top where the elbow is, is the problem. We have had a couple of machines do what you are talking about. What happens is the hex stub shaft on the top of the vertical auger has the roll pin wear off and it falls inside of the vertical auger. Then it doesn't drive the horizontal auger. And if you don't catch it soon enough you will pill up the flighting on the vertical auger. A major expense. We solved the problem by welding a washer in place of the roll pin.
