Hey you guys are spoiled! 5 dealers within a hundred miles! Tip from an old massey operator - learn to live without the dealer. You can get aftermarket lowen sieves, concave and bars, bottom auger parts, walker blocks, I have not failed in getting any bearing from our local bearing supply shop, all the fast wearing belts are available, you need to plan ahead for stuff like the traction and cylinder drive belts, we blew the clutch out of ours and replaced with a altered truck plate - make friends with a good machine shop and there isnt much you cant get fixed. These machines will do a lot of work with good pre season maintenance or you can choose to fix it as it breaks and get to hate the sight of red paint.

For a long time we were without a dealer locally, had to drive 80 miles one way for one so we too quickly learned how to do without a dealer. There are a few bearings on MF machines I've found over the years that are a pain in the butt to come up with other then the dealer. (Most notably beater bearings for a 410 comes to mind). Otherwise there should be no problems. We run a 410 w a 18' 1859 flex over close to 500 acres of soybeans every year. In the past three years I have replaced one beater bearing, once traction clutch pulley, and the only failure last year was the bolt on the sickle head snapped off. These results are pretty much standard fare. I bought this machine in 1985 for $2800.00 with the heads. When we got it home we stripped the entire machine and replaced all the bearings, belts, chains, etc. I have made more money with this machine (old piece of junk toy in one of my neighbors opinion) in one year then they guys with the newer ones do it 5. As long as the tin work is good and straight go get that 760, gut it and put in all the bearings, chains, etc. and it will run for years and years and years! Doc Holiday

the 750, 760, 850, and 860's on wrecker lots are starting to outnumber the one still out in the field so it is easy to find parts from the wreckers too
