grease up the ball bearing's in the turret, that should help with one problem. The other one you can try switching the hose's from the swing value to one of the other value's and see if that help's
You would see this if you had someone operating switch in cab for you (broken end off of cylinder). later machines had clevis turned onto cylinder shaft and then welded for extra strength. Also newer machines had grease zirks located around swivel to keep the balls lubed. I have a hunch that cylinder is tring to bring auger back but balls are doubled up and locking in place. Is cylinder tring to move swivelIJ lube up balls well and it may come free. Swivel will likely have to be removed for a new set of balls and inner ring. Worse yet the whole swivel if outer race is badly wore. Auger swing is the only double acting cylinder setup. If problem is electrical you could get swung in by switching in and out wires around and operating switch backwards. If problem is hydralic you would have to locate the proper two hoses on hydralic stack and switch them around and then operate switch backwards. Hope this helps you narrow down problem.
A big thank you, kurtk and NDDan, advice taken, and today solved the problem. Had to get right into the hydraulic system, after testing as kurtk suggested, didn't seem to actually find anything wrong, however, changed a small O ring, and guess what the auger is unstuck and swinging. The struggle continues, if the weather holds for the next few days, we should be gleaning a nice malt barley crop soon.
