I remember seeing a machine very much like yours in a farm rag several years ago. Was it yoursIJ I wondered about your final drive life too..obviously you figured that out. I hope you will like the new machine as well, that is a big change. GS

The modified 1970 machine was in at least one magazine, probably in the mid-70's. We've not had any final drive problems whatsoever on either of our modified 7700's. Here's the key: the front wheels were dished IN to get the center of the tire between the two bearings in the final drive. Then, axle spacers were added to get 120" tread. Yes, going from a 7700 to a 9750 is going to be a big change!

I have a '77 7700 and an '88 7720. I'm getting ready to rebuild the rasp bars, concaves, and chaffers. As many hours as you have, have you modified anything inside your combines to gain capacityIJ I'm wanting to improve especially the chaffer capacity while I'm doing all this work on them. Do you have any suggestions of things that have worked for you and your dadIJ Thanks for any help, silverdollar

We have not done anything to increase the capacity of the cylinder, chaffer, or sieve. Sorry I can't help you.

That would be an interesting mod, the 360 bu. tank. Where did you get the spaceIJ And would something similiar work on 7720IJ I have 5_8 mile irrigated rows and sometimes cant make a one way pass. With deep furrow ditches cant get out of rows without shaking 10 buschel off the top. And cant get unloading wagons closer to combine either. E-mail me your pics IF you dont mind. at saramy@ptcnet.net. Sort of nice problem to have but not so nice either.
