Go with the Deere it is a much better machine than any White, even if you have to pay a little more for it. I would only reccomend the White if you are feeding hogs, and want to harvest the grain and grind it all in one operation! Before dad went all John Deere in 1974, He used to Run a White Oliver 535. That combine beat the grain to death, We always had dockage for splits and fines with that machine. You should be able to get a good 7700 for 8 to $10,000 depending on hours and condition and what part of the country you are in. last winter I saw a 1975 turbo 7700 hydro with 3500 hours on it with a 218 flex head, and a 6 row wide corn head sell for $9500, at auction. Around here prices on anything older than a Titan II seem to be getting pretty low, because everyone wants to get into the 9000 series.
