Combines 7720 feeder house floor

last year i replaced that pan on our 7720..i had a friend make me one out of stainless steel so i had to re-drill all new holes.. the shaft does not have to be dropped. it is a tight fit im just trying to think of anything to possibly help you on this task...patch it if ya can lol....have fun.. i think ours will out last the rest of the combine.

A neighbor of mine took a piece of sheet metal about 3_32" thick that was the same width of the feederhouse floor, cut it about the same length of the floor, bent the front 1 1_2" down 90 degrees and slid it over the original floor and welded it in place. We replaced ours with a new one and found out that it is a long job to do. There are a lot of bolts and brackets to replace and you are underneath the combine all day. The other way is quicker and seemed to work pretty good. Hope that this helps. Good luck!

I agree. Unless the floor is absolute junk, patching is the easiest and quickest alternative. I've never replaced one personally, but I've seen enough other guys do it to see that it's not something I want to be involved in, lol.

Thanks for all the suggestions to 'slip in a sheet of steel' Will do - sounds a lot easier than pulling the floor out! Thanks also to those who have responded privately off this forum. I'll visit occasionally and see what's going on! Harold

I can't beleive I am the only one to do this... Cut a piece of uhmw 1_4" plastic to fit in there and use flat head screws to hold it down. I quit trying to keep the floor in good condition a long time ago and this will be about an 80 buck (US) fix. Forget the welder...
