WW most repairs run 500 dollars... Be it a sickle section or a major overhaul. I think you can budget a repair bill based on at least 2 breakdowns a season averaging 500 dollars each, you dufus

WW, up in your county I think the best advice I can give you is to go ask the head rubber. He should know the answer to most of your questions, if he doesn't, ask your favorite uncle Sach.... Mr Gorden don't think clipper and wheat whacker are nuts, we farm together and ww is an avid gleaner man claiming gleaners are less expensive to operate

I worked at a JD dealership as head mechanic and service manager. I keep my equipment in top condition and never cut corners. I have owned this combine for 12 years. I always tried to stick 1,000 dollars a year in it in the off season to keep it in top condition. That is for parts only. For the last 3 rears I have not been able to put 1,000 dollars into it with out throwing away good money_parts. 1999 season less then 150 dollars was spent on in season break downs. 2000 season less then 25 dollars, and for the 2001 harvest less then 100 dollars. I run it over 800 acres of soybeans and 800 acres of corn. Not a whole lot of acres but still pretty reasonable repair costs in season. I always felt that if a guy was spending over 500 dollars in parts for in season repairs that you didn't do a thourgh job of off season inspection. I know there are always things that can and do go wrong that can not be for-seen. A couple hours of preseason reepairs may save you days in harvest season........
