Combines 7720 plugged rad

The revised radiator inlet screen that you describe was a home made or local shop made arrangement that was put on a few of the early 6602 hillside combines here in the Palouse region of Washington and Idaho. Don't think it was ever marketed. I seem to remember that the first of that series had pusher fans that pulled the air over the engine and out the radiator which was a disaster for fires.

Some 20 series and 00 series combines do not have the rotary screen sitting square to the rotary screen door. If you remove the screen assembly from its mount you can easily observe if the paint is worn off all the way around the brush contact area. Some doors have large gaps for chaff to pass between the door and the brush on the screen. To correct you must tweek the mount for the rotating screen to square it to the door and clean the dirt out of the brush seal while you are at it. Hopefully this might help you.
