Combines 7720 T2 chopper knife sheet IJ

just wondering when you put the JD replacement in and how many hours did it lastIJ

They lasted about 500 hours. I run the chopper in corn. And with that amount of residue going through I know the chopper takes a beating. And I just figured there would be an after market company that was coming out with thicker sheeting. The thing that bothers me is the original sheet lasted almost 2000 hours. So was the original thickerIJ I don't know because when I replaced the original I didn't measure to see if there was a difference.

I think the JD replacement is heavier than the original (early 1980's) model. I know the bottom chopper sheet for the 9000 series is alot heavier than the original. I wonder if you could fit up a slower pulley like the newer machinesIJ It might spread the residue fairly well, and still bust up some of the cobs.
