Dave, I ran an 8-30" cornhead on an R50 for 6 or 7 years with no problem. I could usally run 2.8 mph in 200 bu. corn with the power being the limiting factor. We also dumped on the go. Had to slow down to maybe 2.5 mph. As far as the shoe is concerned, there wasn't a problem with overloading the shoe unless we were on hillsides. Still should be able to run 2.5 in good corn. In 100 bu. dryland corn, I ran 5.5 and had plenty of shoe capacity and power. You might check on the final drives. We had no problem, but it is possible Gleaner may have put lighter drives in some combines. So check with a dealer to see what you have.
