By all means put a fly wheel on! It will run smoother and quieter and the belt will last longer and wobble box last longer between services and splines don't wear as quick the knife cuts better and in tougher conditions....... I could go on. Only down side is the left hand end of front will be a bit heavier. Fly wheel is 18kg's solid lump of steel bolted with three high tensile 1_4 inch bolts and a hole in the middle to get at pulley nut. Rolf

Made it ourselves. We came up with the idea many years ago as away to smooth out the wobble box type knife drive using the inertia of a heavy flywheel. There are a stack of these flywheels out there now as the idea has been very widely copied and not just on AGCO combines. Machine the cast pulley to get the flywheel to nest very closely inside of the pulley flange. The bolts are tapped into the cast pulley. The hole in the middle of the flywheel is large enough to take a socket to fit over the nut holding the pulley onto the tapered shaft.
