I have this 30ft 800 head for sale now. It has a new gearbox on the crary air reel, lateral tilt, and a new sickle.2001 with about 3000 acres.This new sickle is the first one since it was new. Make the black hold down strap a little wider. 1_4 to 1_2 inch. I am talking about the strap that bolts down to the sickle bar that the feather sheets go under. Had to do it to ours. They were made too short.

updated 800 and the new 8000 series heads have the feather sheet hold down designed differently. The new iron has a slight bend on it to allow more forgiveness on the sheets when they are humped. Yes a short cut is to weld an extra quarter or half inch extension on the hold down. Its the front flat iron the run in front of the feather sheets holding them down. Im not sure what the technical name for it is.
