Combines 800 flex header

I'd suggest replacing the drive pulley for the wobble box on the left end of the header with the drive pulley for a 700 series head. The pulley diamter will increase from 7 11_16 to 9 1_8". Costs about $150.

There is about four different diameter pulleys for driving sickle on the Gleaner headers since '82. You can find them and the strokes per minute in combine header service bulliton. The flex with quick cut had least strokes per minute and the rigid had max stokes per minute. The two middle size pulleys could be substituted to either speed sickle in attempt for better cut or slow up to help limit vibration and or wear and tear. Measure the rear drive pulley diameter and check with dealer to see you have the right one per service bulliton. Number on a couple of them pulleys changed once or twice for they had played with adding more weight but diameters stayed the same. If you can't get answer post diameter hear and we'll see what we can do.

I have a pulley that is near 7 11_16th in size. what pulley do i need to speed it up. will speeding it up cause to many problem.thanks nddan

Smallest pulley I know of: 71358711 6.89" 425RPM That is for slowest sickle speed used with quick cut and standard on 8000 head with quick cut. Next is a: 71358971 7.68" 473RPM That pulley is what I call medium speed for quick cut and the slowest for standard sickle in flex head. It is the standard one for the 8000 with SCH. The next is a: 71328453 8.27" 510RPM I call that the pulley for slowest speed for sickle in a rigid header and or the fastest for any sickle in a flex head. A heavy vertion for that pulley is a: 71367516 which was used for a time on some rigid heads. One still maybe able to get one of them if you order a 71361270 kit. I'm unsure if the kit will be supplied with heavy or light pulley. That kit was used to slow up sickle on rigid heads to help eliminate vibration. They then came with a counterbalanced wobble box and had us go back to higher speed sickle. The higher sickle speed sometimes caused less vibration. I used whichever one caused the least vibration. The next pulley is a: 71371580 9.13" 565RPM It is a heavy pulley that is standard on the 7000 rigid head. The fifth and final pulley is a: 71360877 9.84" 617RPM It is a heavy pulley used for many years on the rigid head only. There were old numbers for the size pulley but I believe they all sub up to this heavy one. I hope I got that all right. Don't forget to first have sickle, gaurds, and hold downs in good shape before monkeying with speeds. You would think the slower the sickle speed the better but if sickle isn't working as hard with it running faster you may be better off. Good luck
