Combines 800 flex headers

Is the 800 drive the same as a 500IJ I removed the first few wear plates on the drive end of my 525 head because the sickle bottomed out on the bar at each end of its travel. I thought that was an invitation for disaster. Tom in MN

Here is another thought that came up at the breakfast table. My wobble box was tilted outward causing the sickle head to run in a line different from the rest of the sickle. After replacing the lH skid plate I still removed the first hold down clip to allow adequate vertical movement of the sickle. Am I on to something or are these thoughts merely daydreams of a former engineer with too much spare timeIJ Excellent Thanksgiving in Southern Minnesota. The temp actually got up to 40F. Tom in MN

Tom, on my 530 Flex, the Drive also tips to the left away from the platform. I have thought many times I should do something with that and will next summer. I wonder if all 500s are that wayIJ Did they fix that on the 800sIJIJIJIJ I guess I will just put some spacer under the outer boltsIJ Seem the right way to fixIJ I wouldn't take any hold downs off next to drive end - I had breakage of sickle before I added another hold down closer to the drive. HMMMMIJIJIJ the tip of the drive may be a factor here!! Too late smart.

Thanks for the link to the website. I am not sure yet, but I think the last couple feet of my bar droops left. I will get it solved. Also, your comment about belt life - I have the "clean cut" 1 1_2" running slow, and got 4 years out of original belt(about 4500 acres). I think mods are especially needed on 3" running faster.

It would be interesting to know if Rolfs sickle is 3 or 1.5.
