Combines 800 header

There is faring extensions on this head they are probably retacted so that you can't see them. They are flat so they look different than the ones on the 500 headers. If you extend them out make sure they don't hit the feeder chain. Ours did so we couldn't use them. We fabricated some that would fit without hitting the chain. They look similiar to the ones that are on the 500 headers.

Thanks I found them and moved them out. I moved my feed drum back two holes. I hope this does not hurt the agresiveness of how my chain feedsIJ Thanks again Tim

You will have to let me know how that works. I like to keep the feeder chain about 1.5" to 2.5" from the auger to avoid a dead spot between the chain and the feeder auger.

By rub bars you mean the "C" shaped channels that run behind the augerIJ If so, yes, you want them to extend into the opening if you cut anything with tough straw. I think ND Dan mentioned once that this was to prevent wrapping around the feeder drive sprockets. Not sure what you mean by the sheeting....

By sheeting, I mean on top of the rub bar there is a piece of stainless steel channel that runs the whole length of the back of the head behind the auger this too extends into the feeder throat area, this seems like it could hinder the flow into the feeder throat. guess I'm not explaining it very clear. thanks anyway Bob

That's right. I would leave it narrowed up especially if running tougher crops that could wrap on feeder shaft. If chain runs into stainless strippers you need to remove half links and or most machines have alternate holes to move tention drum fore or aft. If you bring straw into area ahead of feeder chain nicely you would be amazed at what all can go up that little opening.
