This seems to be a standard problem with the later AGCO flex heads. Try "Hyper Mods - Header Mods and Tips - Heddy's Hyper Mods" from Rolf Hedt. The left hand skid plate is made out of 6 mm [ 1_4" ] plate. This, together with the full length reinforcing bar plus the heavy stabiliser and a wobble box fly wheel has made the whole knife drive and left hand end of the front [" Header" to Americans! ] very trouble free. Where the knife bar is bolted onto the skid plate, the mountings have been lowered about 15 mms from the standard skid plate and the top of the front curved portion of the skid plate has also been cut back and down to give the knife bar clearance. As well the knife has been tipped forward as per photos. It does make the lH end heavier and requires that the suspension spring be beefed up. It has made a big improvement in lowering cutting heights when we harvest lentils, some varieties of which are notorious for laying down when ripe. Cheers.
