My 525 head did the same thing. All I can remember doing was reversing the bolt like you did. That was 6 years ago and if the rest of the story comes to mind I will post tomorrow. Tom in MN
Yes, you will be far ahead to install the hose mod on the 800. We put it on ours two years ago and have plugged the feederhouse only twice since then - used to plug it all the time in short beans. Must be 3" O.D. though - we started out with 2 1_2" O.D. and it didn't work nearly as well as the 3". Good luck- Tom langan
Hi Bob, We have a '99 800 head that we added the hose to. It help it a bunch, or should I say not to bunch. I was wearing out the torque limitor cluthes on the feeder house chain drives because I was plugging constantly. Since I added the hose I may only have one plug a season. Kurt
we put a Crary Air Reel on our 530 head last year and we really liked it, a friend of mine put the Crary Air Reel on his 830 last year too and I think it is safe to say "we would never go back to a standard reel" They will pay for themselves in soybeans saved. I think their web site is www.crary.com
