You should check out that Kinze 8640 that is posted here. We have an 8640 that we bought new in '80 and have put about 13000 hours on it. We had to replace the engine at about 7500 hours because a FORMER employee used ether on it when it was warm and then ran it for about 6 hours with a hole in one piston. We have learned that these tractors are very sound if they do most of the pulling from the drawbar instead of the 3-point. For some reason the 3-point puts a lot more stress on the tractor. This seems to show up with engine problems. The Kinze conversion is designed to eliminate this because it eliminates the engine as part of the frame of the tractor. If you check it out you might ask if any transmission or axle work has been done to it. If they are in good shape or have had recent work that is good because they can cost a lot to rebuild. I know a guy who put $13,000 in his transmission. Ours had just a little noise so we had it checked and it cost us about $5,500 to do the top shaft in the tranny. That really didn't dissapoint us because we pushed silage with it for many years and have kept the blade on it since. Anyway an 8640 would pull what you have easy and an 8650 would even be nicer to have. I Hope this helps. Good luck.
