Haven't seen one run yet. But our local dealer has one on the lot. They sold it to a neighbor, They are going to cut rice with it using a 30 foot conventional header. This will give it a good test! let you know in about a month.

Case brought one into our area last year for a couple of days. They only let a few poeple get close to it. A nieghbor who is a pretty big Case customer was invited to run it and was not to impressed. He loved the cab and features but said the capacity of the machine didn't match all the hype it's gotten. They still have 2388's and don't think they will be trading for a while.

My brother was talking to a neighbor of his the other day and the conversation turned to the 8010 machines. He had been talking to a CIH salesman and the salesman told him that CIH would only build the 8010 and 7010. In a few years the 2388 and 2366 would be dropped and the only machines that CIH would offer would be the 8010_7010. No smaller machines would be offered to replace the 2366_2388. If a customer wanted something smaller than the 8010_7010 they would have to buy a NH CR machine since they would have 4 models in their lineup. From this information I would say red paint is about to be phased out for yellow. Have had a feeling since the merger that this was the ultimate goal. No more red anything.

The 2366_88 will still be available for a few more years. For right now the 7010 is being held back because with the AFX rotor in the 2388 they will keep up with the 7010 so the 7010 will see some improvements before it is released. CNH does realize how big of a market the 2366 has (25%) and I don't see them dropping it anytime soon.

You might want to check out what sort of sickle that draper head uses and the strokes per minute. I can't help bet think you should be able to match his cutting in the same conditions. Heavy varible that Gleaner started to use in about '98 is nearly as big as cylinder varible so I think if you have the newer one you could grease it more and never wear it out. If it is a combo of the fan pulling nearly 20 HP and the constant osilation of sickle you might want to add the flywheel weight to wobble box.
