i agree with you. usually the ones to criticize are the ones that never stick their neck out or they are workin on dad's nickle. we alter old combines a lot , to improve performance, reliability, increase simplicity and ergonomics. we've had a lot of success stories locally and we've tried some ideas that are just pure trash. funny how the duds are always remembered and the super ideas are forgotten. you are correct , Rome wasn't built in a day. all one needs to do is go to combines of the early 1960's and compare them to today's brutes to see that a lot of changes have happened in 40 years , some successful some not, and how combine leadership has changed and will change again. my 2 cents
