Ours has been on order since March also. I don't know why it is taking so long for SPX_OTC to ship unless they have a shortage. Usually they are pretty good about shipping special tools.

A machine that the manufacturer won't even let be repaired, now that's what I call a "throw away" combine! A manufacturer who cares so little about the maintenance of their own products is of no account in my book. You've just been stepped all over by the mfg. Sell it!

Don't believe it to be the manufacturer, in this instance CNH. All the major companies contract out the special tools that dealers need to a hand full of companies, the main one being OTC. Dealers are expected(required) to order the tools before_when they sell the first of a particular machine_model to be a dealer. The tools are expensive and what typically happens is the dealer will delay ordering the tools that are required until they "need" them. Problem comes during the harvest season the demand outstrips the supply and the tools are typically backordered. If I were you I would ask your dealer when they sold their first AFX8010IJ (maybe 2003_2004) Then ask why they ordered the hydraulic test tool kit in March 2006IJ Could be that it is a new kit but some dealerships are run better than others too.

It took 10 years for a lot of tests to be hammered out on the old 14-1600's. the tests and kits have not been availalbe before and no one can get one I suspect. actually they have came out with a new service manual you can understand (IH sytle)and new tests. so what a I going to dump it for, some effing yellow or green posIJ or maybe a silver or yellow masseyIJ

It's true, your at the mercy of OTC when you need dealer tools. They make tools for nearly all ag and auto companys the way it seems, so if you need it bad they really don't care becuase their busy enough.

I'm wondering what special fitting they need to test the combineIJ The NH's all use the same quick coupler fittings that are on tractors including CaseIH MX's. What needs to be tested on itIJ

OK I will bite who has the perfect machine and parts and equipment to fix them. I personally have not seen it yet

there is a lot circuits on this machine. my dealer has made a lot of fittings and yes MX fittings will work they want to check the flow in the control system to see if one part is taking to much, or not getting enough flow. We need to tap into the big lines. heck I have a list of the fittings, doesn't look that tough to me.

This kit was announced in March, 2006. I looked in my records and ordered it the same day that I received the bulletin. So it looks to me like it is definitely a problem with SPX_OTC!

Don't try anything else! You might like it. Honestly, you might be pleasantly surprised at how few "special tools" and "diagnostic kits" are required for some other colors. I have to believe that the large numbers of guys getting out of their 8010s are doing so because of support and reliability issues; not because the others are cheaper. Just about any other color right now has a better track record than an 8010. Yes, it will get better and is getting better, slowly, but nonetheless there are things that an 8010 owner must put up with that owners of other colors don't, simply put.
