Know of 2 8010's running in rice here in the south. Have 30 and 36' heads. Heard from dealer they were having minor problems and had case watching over them, but did not go into detail what these minor problems were. What tires are you running on your 2388'sIJ looking at a 2388 with 30.5's, but have the option of 35.5's or 73x44x32 R2 12 ply flotation. Rubber tracks a little to expensive right now. What would be my best way to go in heavy ground in rice. Thanks.

Yep, it'll be a really good proving ground! 36 foot of rice is a huge chunk for any machine though. As for the tires...i've ran 30.5's up to floaters and metric duals. Just depends on your ground. If its got any sand in it at all, duals do great. Floaters do good to, but they are so wide that they tend to push mud out front of the tire. 30.5's are too skinny. They leave too deep of a rut. They might doo better if you had a 28l26 or something big on the back though. I'll go for the 35.5's repalcement. I can't remember the size though. Its a Goodyear. Stay away from Firestone R2 tires. Their sidewall is really weak on the rice and cane tires.

We have an updated machine going to the feild either today or Friday(if the rice is ready). I hope to have some good news in a few days. I think the updates that were done should be a big improvement. Case-IH is really behind this machine and wants to make it right. I feel with a little time and lots of patience it will do fine. I guess we will soon find out.....
