Combines 8010 series tractors

I have no experience with the CIH but I really like the 8000 series JDs. The only problem we have had is calibration of the trans. Our 8100 shifts rough but can be fixed with recalibration but it is losing its memory and starts to shift rough again. If I had to choose one tractor to own I think it would be a 8400_8410.

The 8010 shifts MUCH better. Under load it does not lurch jump or buck at all. They have improved it leaps and bounds.

We run 8000's since they started making them and they have constantly being improved in little things. We just ran a new 8310 through fall harvest and they're is really not much difference to the old once. Overall they're good reliable tractors. Once in a while a sensor might give you trouble. I have also driven a 7810 and I can tell only good things about it. But on your combine you better think twice. Deere had lots of trouble with them this season. There are many wear parts in the concave what are welded in and hard to replace. CASE is a lot easier to fix there. I have rebuild CASE myself and I have seen the STS torn apart and saw the trouble insight. Our friends, who have run both say the STS doesn't cut more but the CASE sample looks a lot better. Some custom cutters what have switched to green are switching back.

We've just completed a full season (950hrs) with an 8210 and its makes driving far more enjoyable than before. The shifting is great, we only had problems when we changed the oil for a different make (suposidly same quality) after an implemnt hose burst. This was soon sorted when the dealer recalibrated the transmission now its back like new, as for 7010's the 77 just pulls and pulls, great power to wieght ratio.
