How many acres do you have to combine with that machine heard they are huge

Surely if you can afford to buy an 8010 (or any new combine for that matter),you should be able to spare a quick fifteen hundred bucks for the flight over and back :) Think of it as a last fling, before you have to move into the 8010 for the next three years to get the hrs up to pay it off! Good luck with this years harvest.... the way the el-nino is looking, I think we're all going to need it.

Moneys not the only issue we are flat out trying to sow the crop that the 8010 is to harvest. I regards to the el-nino were in a high rainfall area and to much rainfall is our major problem (water logging). last el-nino we made a killing, good yields and high prices!

No need to skite! :) If things are that good surely you should be able to afford to employ a tractor driver for a week or so! Back here in the real world we haven't had decent wheat crop since 2000. And the dealers wonder why there not selling much new gear! 2001 - late July plant - 4 bag avg. 2002 - din't turn a wheel - nearest moisture was 8 inches plus down. 2003 - Bad frosts on early stuff and low yeilds in late plant. 2004 - planting now.

One thing for sure DW can't live in South east Queensland, although there has been a few new harvesters ordered.I can't understand why with the crops the last few years

Thats for sure! Although you always get those guys that always have to be the first to get the biggest and the best, no matter what the economic's of it are. Show me a class 7 plus machine up here and I'll show you a machine that 90% of the time WON'T be able to work to it's true capacity!! (unless you have 40ft plus swinging off the front of it on dead flat country, in road gear, working with a chaser bin.) Why pay for machinery or contractors that cost_charge you for capacity that they can't useIJ

In relation to or location we can't get much further south on the main land. In relation to not being able to fill the capacity of the machine last season tested an 8010 in a 2.5 t_ha barley crop and it was gagging (cab shaking and using 108% of power) at about 9 km_h with a 36 ft front. A record dry land wheat yield was set in our area at about 9 t_ha, with wheat yields of 5 to 6 t_ha being achieved in most years by top producers
