If you can buy the 8010 for the price of a 9660, take the deal and run. You will more capacity with the 8010. Yes, you will have to put up with the upcoming updates on the 8010; more so than on the 9660. Both will have update requirements.

Yea, if you can get equal trade for either machine, go with the 8010. It should have substantially more capacity than the 9660. The 8010 is considered a class 8 combine and would be equal to the JD 9860. The 9660 would be a class 6 combine which it would be the same as a 2388. The Case's do a pretty good job of windrowing the straw for baling and don't chop the straw too much. Not real sure how good the JD's are on baling, probably about the same.

It depends where you are in Alberta. But if the dealer in the south who has a demo machine is the one you have to deal with for service and parts, Buy the Deere. I don't care how big or good any combine is, if the service sucks you will not be happy. Buy for dealer support first! Case has a serious problem on their hands with one dealer owning 7 stores in southern Alberta.
