Combines 8010 winning

It looked to me like the the 8010 is n2 machine with the lEXION being the top dog. The 9860 got kicked so hard at Husker Harvest, Deere did not return to corn with it at Ohio or Farm Progress. When Deere representatives were asked why it was not running in corn, they gave some story about the 9760 being the optimal machine for corn.

Now if they can just keep them from burning they'll have something! Three down so far this fall. It will be a few years before I'd even consider owning one of them, way too many bugs in the drives and hyd. system that I've personally witnessed.

If that is the only difference between the 9860 and the 9760, we could make a John Deere out of the 2388 by boosting it's power to 375hp!!!!!! Don't need any engineers for that, oh maybe that's what they did.

Thats the joke I've always heard about Deere. Their design engineering team consists of four copy machines and former engineers from Case, New Holland, Cat, and Agco. Then they just take the copied product and market it so that seems like the best product to ever hit the farm

Maybe so. But whatever they do, they've been quite successful. Or how did they get to be the n1 player in the US and growing fast in EuropeIJ

What makes you think thatIJ I walked behind the combines on the Husker Harvest Day and couldn't find a difference between any of the machines, checking them for three rounds. Except the old 9600 was the only combine leaving the cobs whole. Then I looked at the grain samples in the boxes and found them to be very different from the corn in the grain carts. So I went back to the grain carts. Hardly any difference among the big competitors. The only outstanding machine again was the old 9600 delivering by far the cleanest sample. I guess when you leave the cobs whole to begin with, you don't have to seive them out later.

If you wanna know!!!! Marketing is the reason that JD is where they are today. Can you name any revolutionary advances in agriculture that was pioneered by JDIJ Oh yea, the plow.

What about the 600 Series platformIJ It can cut at 7 mph versus CNH at 4.5 - 5. The unload system on Deere is also better than CNH. What about the SideHill combineIJ And on tractors how about ROPS, IlS, AutoTrac, ActiveSeat, IVT, front brakes, etc... just look at all the patents Deere has compared to CNH, even adding Case, Steiger, New Holland, and International together.
