Combines 8010 winning

Not much point for JD to have a platform that can cut at 7mph when the field gear will only get you to 6. And by the way I"ve run NH, CaseIH, and Jd headers and there is no prob. running case and nh to 8mph. I had a jd header on a TR 96 and it would hold me back at 7 mph.

lOl - NH head at 8 mph. That's funny. When I was working for a New Holland dealer, we could never get our TR98s and TR99s to run that fast in wheat, because the header couldn't cut it fast enough. I went to the TR Basic and Advanced service schools, and the engineers TOlD us that they were speed-limited by the header, and not machine capacity. They were even (and maybe still are) experimenting with some kind of a endless sickle set-up, with the sections mounted on a belt or chain. I was at a school for the 60-series Deere the other day, and they told us the same thing. Until the 600 head came out, the STS was speed-limited by the header. I've seen the new 635F run in the field on a 9860, and it's a cutting SOB, thanks to a true inline knife drive, rather than the old wobble box. The sections and guards are also very different. It also cuts up to an inch lower than a 900F, thanks to the hydraulic flex system. I've also never seen ANY combine travel through the field at 8 mph with ANY kind of platform or flex-head on it. Corn heads yes, but not a reel head. Maybe you'd better recalibrate your ground speed display.

"just look at all the patents Deere has compared to CNH" getting a patent on an idea you stole or bought out, does not make you innovative... And John Deere didn't actually "invent" the plow, he took an idea and improved it, then patented it ... And I did a simple patent search on the US patent database from 1976 to the present day. I used the term International Harvester and got 614 patents. I used John Deere and got 930... International Harvester hasn't been around for awhile btw.. "And on tractors how about ROPS" "ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structure) -Roll-over protection for operators of farm tractors was developed by lloyd H. lamouria , Ralph R. Parks, and Coby lorenzen at UC-Davis in 1956. Warren Hansen equipped tractor mowers with ROPS for the ND Highway Dept." I think a peruse through http:__www.asae.org_awards_historic2_summary.html, might be in order here, please do count the landmark achievements of john Deere in comparison to the rest... ie, there ain't many.. "The unload system on Deere is also better than CNH" IJIJIJ whyIJ Because the optional 3.3 bushel auger is .3 bushels fasterIJ whoopie, who really caresIJ

Yes, they copied the product and made it better. Smart people learn from their mistakes. - Smarter people learm from other other people's mistakes. let's face it the JD is a great machine, - however pound for pound and doller for doller the Axial Flow is very hard to beat. Might not have the JD capacity, but nonetheless a proven winner.

Please refine your patent search to Deere and Company, where you will find 2586 patents since 1976. The unload auger is better for more than the additional .3 bushels per second. It is a 17" auger versus an auger that is turned faster by CNH.
