Combines 8070 cummins repower

We put a Hundley Cummins conversion in dad's 7580 when a piston broke and he has never regretted it. It made it a different tractor. Neighbor put one in a 7080 with the same results. It is a easy conversion as now after doing one we could do in a big day or an easy two. The only problem is the cost as dad for a 240 horse conversion with new power director was around $13000, however it had practically everything. Kirk

That is what we found out with our 4w 305 we had to rebuiid the motor in it and it cost us 11,000 to overhaul it complete. Which is less then you could repower it. It had burnt a piston so we just rebuilt the Allis motor and that is 731 cubic inchs so we would have had to put in a bigger one then 240 hp. But if your crank would be bad it would be cheaper to repower probably. Illinois Gleaner

We did one for customer about 6 years ago, he loved it.. I was not involved in the process of converting it but I heard it was not to hard. Customer say it made it a whole new machine.
