Combines 810 vrs 1010 headers

You will not need any adaptors. One of the differences will be the availability of hydraulic fore and aft on the 1010 headers. I do not believe your 1480's are even equiped with this option either. If you choose the 810's find out it they have the large diameter auger. The earlier 810's had a small diameter auger and they were a feeding misery. The 30 ft 810's came out later so maybe they never even had the small auger, maybe sombody else could answer that.

I'm pretty sure no 30ft 810s were ever built with small augers. The 30ft 1010s are heavier. Your 1480s would have to have the 3rd lift cylinder to handle one. We have a 84 1480 with only 2 cylinders and also a 2388. I tried to pickup our 30ft 1010 with the 1480 once just to move it around the yard. It would lift it but it was a struggle.

Where are you locatedIJ We may be looking at getting rid of our 1010 25ft header, both pick up and bat reels fore _aft. I'm considering going to a 1042 if I can move this header. This header is a 86 but you'd have to look hard at it to tell, stored inside since new, one little ding in the auger. New wobble box two years ago.

If you get a 1010 header, the two brackets on either side of the front of the feeder house that you bolt the rubber belting to have to be replaced. The originals protrude out too far and will contact the larger auger of 1010 or 1020. If you get hyd fore and aft (which you should) a multiplier valve on the unloading auger valve works very well. We have a 1020 on a 83 1480 so I know it works. Best of luck.

Thanks for the feed-back. To Alta Farmer, we are in Manitoba, but not ready to purchase yet. Trying to look at all our options. Thanks.
