Combines 82 N5 with RWA

Does this machine have Series 3 on the sideIJ If so then it is basically equal to an R5. And from an A2 and K go take some flying lessons before you operate the N5, get use to a minimum of 5mph with a 6-30 CH or 20' grain head. The later N's had most of the bugs out and were very fine machines and didn't smoke fiercely like the earlier ones. 82 is the year of the major changes to the Series 3(heavier_better built machine) The RWA had many problems to address yet, but so did every company offering RWA at that time, mainly the drives in the hubs. Make sure the engine is only turning 190 HP, any more and things start to give. Many things can be done to update the N series to make them put All competition to shame. My 82 N6 Series 3(Hyperized) out performs the 9750 STS across the fence and does far better than the uncle's 2388. It out performs the neighbors hyperized R60 and competes evenly with the other R62 in the neighborhood. Check the augers and accelerator rolls for wear when looking at the rotor. With the engine hours, at 3000 or so have an UNDERHAUl(rod bolts and bearings) done, cheap insurance at $1400 at my Gleaner dealer.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm hoping to go and check out the machine sometime within the next week. This last fall we had to lease a combine to finish up, it was a 1660. It was a mad dash from operating the others and seeing boxturtles pass me by. I could hardly imagine running 5+ mph through a field of corn. Again, thanks!
