Anteater...I have to disagree on one thing about the 820s. The auger speed on the 1020 is a lot slower and will not throw beans out the front. Why do you thing that your head cuts alot better than any other head....The 1020 is sure a good inprovement over the 820 in my books. JWK

We have ran this head side by side with a 25' 1020 and this rebuilt 820 will cut closer, cleaner and faster. After Young's get done rebuilding these heads they are about 10 times better than a stock 820 head and in most areas a big improvement over a 1020.

I don't buy this story about an 820 cutting closer than a 1020 or faster...You are talking about an outfit that put new sections on your knife, timed the knife, set the angle of the feeder house faceplate. I will cut alongside anybody with a set of new knife sections as will any Deere than I have cut beside...An 820 is a good head, and with a new knife with the face plate angle set properly will cut with the best of them, but so will the 1020 and Deere heads also.
