If you can do it and you are going to get another head. Seriously consider a flexdraper, they are light years ahead of the flex head. IG

head is 30' with sch bar,we have ran 80 acres since we put new knives on, we think it is a 2000 model with lateral tilt, long dividers.

Put one on my 2000 62 this fall and really like it. Feeds so much better with the full fingers especially in short beans. Have had no problems with fingers breaking. The single point hook up is well worth the cost if you take your head off a lot like I do.

So what's your take on the draperIJ We are probably looking at something other than our 72 next year and I honestly can't get excited about the 75 very much. Since the 65 and 75 run the same engine no point in spending the extra cash on the 75. I know you run the A series but no dealer in SW Il will order one in and I'm not going to be the guinnea pig. I love the new style unloader on the A series. local Case dealer is working us over to order a 6088 or 7120 and they really push the flex drapers. i love my 72 as we've done many of the feeder mods the new machines have. I hate the corner posts on the 5 series cab and the swivel auger just sucks trying to dump over a 1000 bushel cart. We've kicked around buying a draper and running our 72 another year in hopes of some serious R series improvements.

The draper is more then I expected it to be. That thing feeds all of the time. I have cut at 9:00 in the morning when no one was running. And at 10:00 at night when the grass in the yard would hang a 2 wheel truck from the dew. It feeds even all of the time. You can tilt the cutter bar on the go. You really only have 4 skid plates hitting the ground. You lock your lateral tilt out. The head does it all.All you will get with the 75 is more fuel usage, and a junk chopper. I personally like the cab in the 75,its the same in the 85. They say that there are improvements coming to the R. But with the hoopla and nothing this year, the auger and redesign to the red ones and the A. Makes me think its about time to move to a different color. I run a 9770 deere today, with a 12 head. The green guys had a demo in the area. Nice combine,The cab is small and noisy, compared to our 85. I really like the looks of the 8010,that is what I am leaning towards for the next combine. IG
