Combines 84 N6 unloader won t turn on

John, Have you checked the auger swing fuseIJ When reinstalling unloading tube did you reset the swivel switch so it makes contact when unloading auger is in the out positionIJ Have seen switch set too close and it can break switch housing on the first time of swinging auger out. You can also check to see if you have power going through swivel switch if you can have somebody hold switch in the on position. When you hear the motor pull slightly when pushing the unload switch that tells me that the pump is trying to come up to pressure but the "on" solenoid is not getting power. Hyper Harvest II

Took the switch off and the housing was broken, looked like an old break since there was dust in it. Checked continuity with my volt meter and the switch appeared to be good but ordered one anyway. I'll try some more things tommorrow. John

John, Try connecting those two wires together with the auger out and see if it will turn on. You can also check for power back at the valve stack. Make sure the wire connector didn't get corroded while sitting. Hyper Harvest II

Well the new switch fixed it, although I'm still not quite sure why the old one would not work when the continuity checked out. Thanks, John

sometimes the contacts connect just enough to allow votage or continuity through but not enough for sufficient current to flow through for electronics to work properly.
