yes it could be the poppits same symptoms happened on my 760 but it was the relief valve. only way to know wheather or not its the relif valve is to put it on a test stand. if the poppits are fine than i would bet thats your problem but should probably have it checked any way. was a very frustrating problem for me on the 760 had the valve at the dealer replaced the poppits hour back to the field half hour putting the valve assembly back on fired up no dice. back off back to dealer new relief valve hour back half hour work still no response 25 minutes cause i was getting good at this back off. call the mech. he says could be hydrolic pump. two hours one way to get a pump put the pump on full of hope fire it up header stayed on the ground. thats when i flew through the roof of the machine floating on a blue cloud of profanity what was wrong. mechanic was as baffled as i was so a 3 hour round trip to hydrolic shop and the problem was a POS relief valve replacement so i put it back on the machine and finally the header functioned and all it took was about three or four tanks of gas and three relief valves. good luck Red PS hows the barley down south

Problem solved. I didn't get to look at the valve yesterday, as the temp topped at 43 degrees C (about 110 F ) and there was a howling north wind --not the sort of day for pulling hydraulics apart in the field! Had a look this morning and found the valve seat in the solenoid pilot valve fullof bits of what looked like stainless wire. No idea how they got there, butcleaned them out and it works as good as ever.
