Combines 8570 constant speed rotor control

You can add the constant rotor speed option to the older machine with some modifications. Massey uses a fixed displacment motor with a hall effect shaft speed sensor to monitor the rotor rpm, and the sensor sends a signal through a PIP controller to tell the pump to send more or less oil to the motor to maintain RPM. You will have to switch to a fixed displacment motor with the hall effect sensor, add the PIP controller, and wire it up. Also you might want to add some better hydraulic filtration to the unit because the factory Massey filtration could be improved with a minimal investment.

What would doing this costIJ If it was within reason, I could see alot of late model 8570s getting this done to them. What would you do to improve the hydraulic filtrationIJ

i will get an actual price on the parts on monday to do this changeover. labor you could do yourself...pretty easy. As far as filtration you should add a filter to the charge pressure loop, which would guarantee that you are always sending very clean oil to the pump, high pressure loop filters, and also a better filter to the return oil. Another option to adding these three filters would be to use a filter which always pulls some oil off of the high pressure loop, up to 2 gpm, this would be the most economcal way, and from experience it works very, very well. I look on Sauer web site, it had a place to look up the number on the motor to identify what kind of displacement I have (my did not look like the picture they show of a variable displacement motor) the numbers on the motor are of a fixed displacement motor. The operator manful side the motor to be a variable displacement but I think it is wrong. They did mention that there was an improvement to the electrical displacement control that is on the pump, has anyone had to change that partIJ On the 1997 8780 the service manual show a hall effect sender instead of the magnetic type that was change back to on the 98 8780 on the front of rotor, they also show a rotor speed_engine load control module in monitor shaft speeds diagrams that cant find any info on in the book. The hall effect sender dose it got the motor or on front of rotorIJ On the sauer web sit it show a filter receptacle that can be put in the large hole on the back (larger hole) on top of pump, cceco have this receptacle that fit in this holeIJ Thank you for your replies. send me you motor n's, the displacment control on the pump should be ok unless you're having trouble with it. the hall effect sensor can be either a motor or rotor mount. also the cceco filter can be tied into the system anywhere there is continuous oil flow, so you do not need the fitting, however you can buy it through sunstrand if you want to add charge pressure filtration.
