Bov, No offence taken after what you said about it being a friend. Its just that Massey Man and a few others from here always come over on the Gleaner site and bash which is stupid and its gets some of us irratated rather quick. We have Massey dealer in our nearest town,as a matter of fact we have every color there is in our town of 3000 people. So I feel very fortunate about that. I have always drove Gleaners we have a 72 and 62 now but if I switched I would give Massey there chance . I like being different, I'm not a go along with the crowd guy. Hope you have a good fall. Whats up. Not adding to the color war here. I agree wholeheartedly about the N series... they caught alot of flak (granted there were more than a few lemons...) , but the majority of them are wheat eating monsters...we have a neighbor who has an N6 and a 2188...said the 2188 wouldn't clean the sample as well as his N6. Really likes the cab and servicability though! About the Masseys, down here there aren't that many around...tractors or combines. The combines are the old 850's, 760's, etc. Still chugging along just fine. But I haven't seen a modern Massey since the farm show a few years ago. They just aren't marketed that heavily down here. Some of the folks with green blood seem to be the firestarters lately...always clowning (blindly, I might add) on Gleaners and, well, anything that isn't JD Green. Granted, deere builds some nice stuff, but so does every other company. I'm open to any machine, but for the time being, the ones that please me the most are Gleaners, and I intend to stick with them until I find reason not to. The next company I'd look at would be a IH. Anyways, point being, like what you like, hate what you hate, and let people decide for themselves without alot of senseless arguing!lOl Happy harvesting guys!

Once again I don't feel it is right to come over to the massey site and degrade our combines. I run a 760 I bought it for $3000 and I have paid for it many times over and I am only 18, I am going to college and when I come back I am going to try to make a living from my farm, I cannot afford a high dollar combine and for the money you cannot buy a better combine than a Massey. There low price is a combination of poor forsight by Massey engineers and a lack of low cost avaible parts. I've made a lot of college money running my "salvage" machine. But if it makes you feel like a "better" farmer to down grade Massey combines then come over and do it some more, I love to reply to ignorant color blind farmers who forget whe are all in the same boat.

You are like the retarded kid in school who waits to make smart a$$ comments and in the process makes an a$$ out of himself instead. I hope I spelled everything right for you but your form of English is barely a language in itself. Gidday mate! Hope the kids have kept off the lawnmower.

I m not being a smart a$$ but if you go to college to get an education dont waste it farming because Ive farmed for 17 years ,dont have an college education ,but I m telling you there no profit in this farming . Even if you buy those cheap combines we just cant make it on these prices. Good luck in college this year Illinois Gleaner

I totally agree that there is no future in farming, I am coming back to ranch and to sell alfalfa and hay. I only do a little farming, I could not imagine just farming, anyway you try to make a cashflow work it doesn't. Thanks. Kidroff

and noone offered any advise at all. Sad, a freind of mine owns a newer model..can't think of the n but he told me it is really easy to set, just go by the book. Something was said about getting the "pinch point" correct in relation to the concaves, whatever that is. Good luck, I own an old deere but I do feel the massey rotary is the simplest design of them all.
