Just bought a really clean 92 model with 1900 hrs. straw chopper, like new tires, and never been in corn or beans, barley only. Paid 34K.

northernfarmer, I farm in Utah, but bought the combine out of Manitoba. They where asking high 40's US money for it and I worked out a trade on my 86' 860. They allowed 18k for the 860, and a difference of 16k for the trade. So it worked out to 34K total price, and then there was $1,500 for shipping so I guess it would have been $35,500 for the deal. I really like the combine! Cut corn with it and it done a awesome job. Cleaner sample than the 1680 and would travel 1 to 1.5 mph faster. I am excited to try it out in 130 bu. barley and 160 bu. wheat this summer. Hopefully it will do a good job, and I will find a way to make it so I can leave a windrow behind it so we can bale the straw. If you have any tips on how to make the old girl pur, please let me know.

alan.. good luck with your purchase, there isn't a simpler combine out there. to be able to bale the straw remove the knives from the rotor, if you aren't doing green beans i've been told they aren't needed. we removed them from the front concave area of our 8560, found that it increased capacity by alot. check around and see if you should remove all of them, if you can get away with it, you'll increase it's capacity and allow you to bale the straw. a massey dealer told me that cummins supplied some detuned engines for the 8570 combines maybe check and see if your's is running with the right hp. let me know how thing work out for you and the machine. HAPPY NEW YEAR.northernfarmer
