We have the same problem with our 8560, have replaced all the seals around air box, and helped very little. Now that harvest is done we are going to go to the neighbors and look at his JD. His brother also has identical combine and his runs for maybe a week before he has to clean Radiator our neighbors is daily or more just like our 8560. Was going to see what fin count is, maybe the one that doesn't plug has less fins per inchIJ

mlappin: do you have spreaders or a chopper on your combine...I'm convinced that straw spreaders are the main reason that the rad plugs. They throw the straw and chaff more up into the air where a chopper spreads it left to right and lower down on the machine. I'm looking to replace the spreaders on my 8570 with a chopper...I made an air scoop for the rad screen this fall, helped but still not the results I wanted.

Dee: I sent You an email...the grain backfeeding: I've been told that speeding up the rotor or slowing down the combine's ground speed will help prevent this from happening or the other thing to check is the front beater...if it is in bad shape and not able to grab the grain to feed it into the rotor that will cause back feeding and you wont get the capacity from your combine....Good luck.........Neil

Hey Northern, we do have the spreader instead of the chopper. Personally i like the spreaders over choppers, and would never convince father to change to chopper. He had a horrible experience on 9700 when belt running chopper snapped and alarm didn't go off because he still had bypassed after cutting oats. Was picking corn and have never had a rotor jammed upthat tight. Actually bent rotor drive shaft. Was about a day and a half unplugging it. like somebody packed it full and used a jackhammer to force some more in

Ouch: that would hurt...the 8570 i just bought has a chopper, i'm looking to buy one for my old 8570...with 0-till I'm finding that i need to get the straw chopped up finer, and I hope that it will help with the rad.
