I currently farm with two 8570s and the landlord helps me with his 1680.The 1680 is a very good combine but it cannot keep up to the 8570 in any crop.The 1660 isn't even close,good luck.

We have a 1992 8570 that we got from and action that has a lot of hours, the elavator cans were worren out, the flinting on the front of rotor worren out, the spline form rotor plainter in to rotor worren tell drive motor wobbels (stell have some problem with that). Our has the 8.3 engine with only 220 hp which is no much biger then 1660 IH. They have high ideal set a 2600 rpm, the engine was rebiult at 3000 hours, 500 after we got it. The header that came with it (9222) is what white use (no mf) so I don't think your headers will fit with out adapter. We have only replaced 3 bairings, and I think we will git a lot more hours out of it. MF 850 we used had alot of trouble with the shoe and drive for the shoe, on the 8570 no trouble there, cleaning fan blade broke this year. I do like driving the 8570 beter then the 1460 IH .

Really no comparing we run an 8560 with 20ft. grain table and an 8 row 30inch head.It has the smaller cummin's motor which is very economical on fuel under 7 gal. an hour.If I was to choose from the choices you have I'd go 8570 if part's will be available still in the area.No-one can say there hard to work on they are too darn simple.CaseIH I would consider but I don't like the belt drive rotor if that plug's and they all do at least a massey you can back up with a switch.Biggest complaint I can give are heads can't find any I like.It didn't help that the dealer we bought from tried to save us some money and we went with white heads they would be great on a white combine but on a massey the angle that they hook on is all messed up.Neighbor bought an 8560 also and converted his grain table and corn head over and hates that configuration also.Ask around your area at owner's we got the first in our area and now are running the oldest rotory in the neighborhood.2-8560's,2-8570 maybe 3 next year ,3-8780,and 1-8780xp with more looking.

Walterman's also have a 9750 grain table for that combine on the sale. You can adapt your 1163 to fit on a 8570 but I wouldn't recomend it. The 8570 won't spin the snapping rolls fast enough to get the full potental out of the combine. I had a 1163 on our's and found that it would start pushing the stalks forward at 3.5 to 4 MPH instead of pulling them downwards compleatly. We realy like our 8570 though.

I have a late model 860 for sale. Excellent condition. Completly gone through. Years of service in this machine. Has late model features including ground speed reel drive ect. call 618-753-3644 for a complete list of all work done. Paid over $30000.00 two years ago and will sell for much less today. Can arrange delivery also.

I have run an 8570 for three years after using an 860 for about 7 years. No comparison in the operator comfort between the two machines. The 8570 should out do your 860 capacity wise by about 20%. If parts and service are available the I would go for it in a heartbeat. Just traded mine on an 8780 XP. Mine was a 1996 so HP was at 240 instead of the 220 on the one you are looking at. Here in North Dakota the limiting factor in wheat seemed to be HP to get the straw through. THe 1660 would be a lot smaller capacity machine, I have run with all the JD's and IH's (9600, 9610, 9650, 9650 STS, 1688, etc) and can stay with any of them and do a bette job of cleaning.

Just curious,what kind of a machine was the 8590IJ I have seen 1 in my life.It seemed like a monster to me.It had a 12row 30inch cornhead. It was sitting a t the end of a circle.Are there many of these aroundIJ Are they reliableIJ Was this head to bigIJ Are they all in norhern us and canadaIJ

We have an 8590 the 12 row corn head would not be to big. It is a class 7 combine, the rotor is 31.5 inch diameter and 165 inches long. It has over 7400 sq in of cleaning capacity. The thing that would help most would be more HP in muddy conditions.
