The one in Jamestown ND is an older l3 with new grain tank or newer green stripe decals also looks tough. Try the farm and ranch guide Rice farm equiptment in Fessenden, ND has a 86 or 87 model l3. I bought a 87 model with 1100 actual hours on it two years ago, has 24Ft. straight head and dummy head with 388 melroe pickup, gave 30,000 for it. Drove many miles and made many trips looking for one and came home to dissapointed to many times before I bought this one. Good luck in your search and with a little time the right one will come along, at least thats what the wife tells me.

We have a 1985 l3 that has the orange rims. Our dealership told us that it was actually considered to be a late l3 similar to the green stripe 86 and 87. Our serial number is 9 numbers into the late style. One thing different on the later l3's is the hydro. We have a Denison hydro compared to the earlier ones having the Dynapower. We just purchased a 91 R60 and had considered selling our l3 but I think we will keep it. It has 2400 engine hours, is RWA, and is in very good condition.
