Combines 86 R6 questions

R6 is a fully updated N6 series 3 with the engine slowed down so that the 3000 hr underhaul is not necessary. Personally if you read on down about the parts for the 60's or the Deutz era machines I would stay with an N6, R6, or R62. One man can't get rear axle parts for his 60. My N6 just got it's 3000 hr underhaul and doing fine, no parts problems for it.

The R6 is a machine that anyone can be proud of. look for wear on accelerator rolls, cage, and feed chains. These parts dont wear at an unusual rate but they can give you an idea of how much wear there is on the rest of the machine. For example, some guys can wear out the feed chains in a short period of time and then they will rattle around in there and possibly damage other parts. Hyperizing my R60 cost only a few hundred, as most of it was my labor. In my opinion, Hyperizing is a good off-season job that pays for itself and makes the machine fun to operate. Tom in MN

I did everything listed on the upgrades page except for the separator grate because I simply ran out of time. The major items if I can recall them were, piggy backing helical bars, removing reverse cylinder bars, high_low separator bars, add 2 paddles on discharge end, and squaring up the concave side to side without a fore_aft wedge. You will note an earlier comment from Pete regarding installation of an F2 bar in the bottom of the cage on the separator side. This sounds promising as a winter job. Go through the upgrades page for P1 processor and then come back with specific questions. Tom in MN
