Combines 860 alternator trouble

I know you said the grounding had been checked but have you made sure the negative cable from the batteries does have a good earth onto the combine as well as the earth strap to the motor.The reason I ask this as years ago one of out 750s went through five alternators in five days and after a lot of hair pulling a auto electrician cleaned up those earths and there were no more problems

We have a battery cable going from the negative of the battery to the alternator mounting bolt and we still burnt out two more alternators after that was installed.

Hello Narrow Row, Could you be more specific about the type of Delco alternator you were using (model, amps, etc)IJ

if you have an 72 or 105 amp delco alt change it to a 130 amp for about 50 bucks more we rarely replace 105 amp alternators without going to the 130 amp for the reason u have. agco dealers have them availible to them or send me an e mail it will solve alot of problems
