If your combine does not have the hyd reel drive to run the 9000 series head you will need to ad a pump to get the capacity you need. Call Rod at Willmar Farm Center, Willmar, Minnesota 320-235-8123. They are MF dealers and have add on hydraulic reel drive kits for 750 thru 860 models. I bought one from them a few years ago to let us put a 9120 head on a gray cab 750. It works great. Hope this helps.

When I bought my 850, it was set up with a Harvestaire air reel on a 24 foot front. This was driven by the hyd pump for the original reel using oil from the main resevoir. No problems with cooling because the reel has a built in cooler running the entire length of it. From memory that pump is supposed to put out about 10 GPM, but I could only get about 1400 to 1600 rpmout of it instead of the recommended 1800 to 2000. Are you sure of your figure of 5000 rpmIJ If you need more pump capacity it would be a simple job to replace the std. pump with a larger one driving off the rh beater pulley. Anyway, my set-up is all sitting in the shed now as it proved hopeless for our usually (but certainly not this year ) fairly heavy crops.

Dan, I have confirmed that 5000 rpm is correct, direct from harvestaire . It is only a 6 inch blower for the 30 foot front and as such it needs a fair bit of extra wind. Is the reel drive you talk about here the one for the 9000 series front which you mentioned in your other post that is extra to the normal hyd systemIJ I am also not sure what you mean about the cooler running the length of the air reel.
