Combines 860 steering problem

I assume all the other hydraulics are workingIJ it is probably the steering motor that is bad. Sometimes the hydraulic pump goes bad, the steering should have priority over every thing else. One thing that seems to get over looked is the filter in the hydralic tank itself.

To mfpartsman. All the other hydraulics seem to be working, the header lift does need some engine revs before it will activate though. I don't know why I said it happens when we turn to the right because it is only when we turn to the left that it has the problem. The filter in the hydraulic tank has been recently changed.

just checked it out The valve you need to shim is on the back of the main pump it is the steering priority valve and i think is shown in the book I think we just took one shim out and it worked fine after but you may need to put a shim in it is trial and error good luck

Jack up the rear axle and check for any rough spots while turning the wheel tight left and tight right. You may have bad_dirty bearing problem in the axle spindle(not the wheel spindle). If you want a thrill, have one of these spindles break while you are turning with a full hopper, life does go on after that, but you sometimes have chills running up your spine!!
