All models that end to number 5 have a Multi-Flow cascade separator at the back. There was 755 and 765, as well as 855 and 865. In europe even 510 had sister model 515, and many others like 525, 535, 565, 625, 665, 815, 835, 845. Only difference between xx0 and xx5 models that I know is that separator.

Massey 8 can probably explain it better. It's a type of rethresher getting the last pickins off the back of the straw walkers. It's inside the back cowling. There's a little grain elevator on the side taking collected material back to the pan under the walkers. Saw one in Canada in the last days of Massey. Think they're used up there especially in barley which can easily be thrown over the walkers especially in moist straw conditions.

There was one local farmer around me that owned an 865 and it was pretty much the last new Massey in our area. Seems like they had some sort of a rethresher taking the grain off of the back of the straw walkers. The rethresher was a weak spot on the Masseys. Picking up swaths of grain played he!! with the rethresher and its hard to find a Massey around here that doesn't have the rethresher all welded and patched up.

Check out Guy Conan's pictures of an 865 in the Massey photographs. There is a good picture of left hand elevator.

There were a lot of the 865's in my area for use in rice. There's a 855 sitting close to the seed company that we are growing seed for. It looks clean and well cared for. Its still in use too. He just put new tires on it last year so I guess he's planning on keeping it.

The rethresher is simply an extra beater at the the back and below the straw walkers. This propelled the straw over a wire screen so that any grain still in the straw passed through it into the auger below and back to the pan by an elevator. It can be a horror in a big crop of straw since it sits fairly close to the ground if you stop because of a table blockage you must reverse very quickly or the straw coming out of the back builds up and winds round this beater. The beater on the early 515 was vwery low indeed and combined with a manual gearbox which often was nearly impossible to change gear due to the long linkage made for some interesting times in the back end of a dusty combine. many bad words were spoken about them!
